You can tell Steiner Education is a different way of teaching altogether as soon as you walk into a Steiner Kindergarten.
First of all it looks different, the room is dressed in soft colours and materials and the play equipment that the children use for their play is made from natural materials.
Behind this different appearance is a deep philosophy, which gives importance to the children’s physical, social and emotional development rather than focussing too early on reading and writing. Although it might not be very obvious, we are engaged in getting the children ready for school.
We include activities to develop the children’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for the physical act of writing later on.
We stimulate the children’s natural interest in language, rhyme and story with rich songs and rhymes and international stories, which are sometimes told in other languages.
