Parent &Child Group
Acorn Steiner Parent and Child group meets three mornings each week. We meet on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at Withgill House on the outskirts of Clitheroe and Whalley. It is a nurturing rural setting. The number of families attending is kept deliberately low. We feel this is best for young children and babies.
On Mondays we bake bread, Wednesday we paint with the 'wet on wet' method, and on Thursday we make seasonal crafts or prepare for a seasonal festival. All this is along side play materials from the natural world (shell's, pine cones etc) wooden toys and simple equipment to foster the young child's developing senses.

Our morning together concludes with a short walk and a goodbye song.
The parent and toddler group is facilitated by Leone Wilson, who is a state qualified Arts and Craft teacher, and has been a long term assistant at the Kindergarten. She provides essential discipline in a calm, composed and respectful way, and is a model of patience and understanding.
Acorn Steiner 3-6 years Kindergarten session currently runs from 10am-12 noon on Tuesdays, and follows a similar format to the parent and child group, but parents do not need to stay with their children.
The children paint, bake and do craft work, as well as free play, followed by snack time, circle time and a short outdoor walk.
Leone Wilson also facilitates the Kindergarten session.
Ailsa Nicholson is assistant to Leone and helps keep the sessions running smoothly.
They are both dedicated to the philosophy of educating children in a way all children deserve.
