Testimonials

This Testimonial is written by Rachel and Jon Burslam.
parents of Rosie and Fenn who have been with us in 2009-2010.

Rosie and Fenn have been attending the Acorns Steiner group for a year now and it has been such a positive experience for us all. The whole family enjoys the relaxed and encouraging atmosphere of the Parent and Toddler sessions and Rosie has grown so much through the 3-5 year old sessions under the care and support of Leone. The Acorns is such a positive, warm environment for children to learn about relationships, our natural world and our responsibilities within it. Every child should be offered the opportunity to grow, develop and learn in such an atmosphere of love and support.
Thank you, Rachel and Jon Burslam.

This Testimonial is written by Melanie Ramsden,
mother of Luke Ramsden, who joined us in April 2006:

When Luke went to nursery, he was always exhausted when I picked him up, now when I pick him up from Kindergarten he is relaxed and happy and that makes me feel very comfortable leaving him in their care.

This Testimonial is written by Kate Murry,
mother of Khandro Murry who also joined us in April 2006:

Our child, like all children her age, is both strong and delicate. She would
have survived in a mainstream nursery, no doubt, but we had real concerns
about her going there, even though she was offered a full time place, The
curriculum has become so geared up to 'Early Years' that it is almost
indistinguishable from the reception year in school now. That means hot
housing the child into learning to read and write, to fit into a system.
There is a tragic loss of individuality and space for exploration: times
when the children do nothing, simply be are not permitted as the emphasis is
on putting things in.
We trust our child to trust her own intuition, and follow her inner voice,
which will lead her to the learning she needs.
She is blossoming at the Steiner kindergarten where she is not only
permitted to do this, but where others delight in her doing so.
We are so grateful for her to have this precious place of unfolding.

James and I arrived at Acorn Parent and Toddler Group in September 2004, when James was 18 months  old . The peaceful and fun atmosphere  appealed to us both  straight away!. James loved to play with  the wooden  blocks especially and week by week  developed  his imagination.  James responded well to the social events of the morning, for example, playing with other children, sitting around the table for our meal and the walk outside after story and songs. He has just started school, and takes with him all that he experienced on a Wednesday morning.

For me as a Mum, the Acorn Steiner Group has taught me so much about parenting and simply being with my children. I am more  aware  of their  developments, nature and the seasons  and I feel  I take home something new each week to share and experience with them.
